U.S. Petition to prevent ACTA

Originally posted by lk737 at U.S. Petition to prevent ACTA
Kosmonaunt on Tumblr just posted this link to the U.S. Petition to stop ACTA. Here is what was said about it:

Americans, this is a link to the White House petition to End ACTA and get the Obama Administration to withdraw its support! This petition needs 25,000 signatures by February 20, 2012! Please, Please take a minute to sign this petition!! I'm sure the more signatures we get, the greater chance the Obama Administration may listen to us.

Please pass this along!!

Please check it out and Retweet if you're on Twitter (hashtag #ActAgainstACTA). Here is the shortened link for Twitter -- http://t.co/suHDHx8K

Thank you to everyone on my flist and twitter for talking about this and making us so aware! You guys have really filled my flist with so much information! *massive hugs*

Random Observation of Randomness

I just noticed that in the Psych episode "Yang 3 in 2D," one of the datestamps in Merry's video diary is my birthday. Creepy.
I don't know exactly, but in the continuing saga of my epic no1curr (see, I'm hip to the lingo :P) about That Social Bookmarking Site That Everyone Is So Over Now:

the Manage Tags option is back, complete with renaming capability. I know all the cool kids have moved to Pinboard, and objectively it's very affordable, but I simply don't have a workable method of electronic payment right now, so seeing Delicious get back on its wobbly legs somewhat is SO EXCITING for me.

So, I'm assuming that everyone who gives a rip in the first place already knows that Delicious recently "upgraded" in the most inconvenient, upsetting way possible. Some tags were rendered meaningless! It seemed impossible to use combined-tag searches (which was one of the most useful features on the site to begin with. Thanks, AVOS)! And other such annoyances.

Now, I've been using a loaner laptop since I took mine into the shop three months ago (and then things like bureaucracy and money troubles happened, delaying the fix seemingly indefinitely. *sigh*). But today, today I am finally getting MINE back. (\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/! I mean really.)
tl;dr about my own reasons that the Delicious switch was a ProblemCollapse )

So. I was aghast about AVOS, but since today is Laptop Day, and I will begin to restore all of my personal settings when I get home tonight, I decided to have another peek at Delicious.

And here are the pleasant surprises I encountered:

1) You can use "related tags." In fact, there are two ways to do it. One is to type the tag you want into the indicated box at the top of the search page. The other is to simply click the tag on any entry where it appears.
2) They've reactivated all of the tags.
3) It's easier to navigate the Tags sidebar than I first thought. The reason for the incomplete listing is that that list accounts for what appears on the page of links you're looking at, and the "alpha" button is not there just to look pretty.

And the things that are still annoying:

1) You can only View All Tags on your own page.
2) Stacks. Oh, Tag Bundles, I miss you so. You were so much easier.
3) I still can't find a Manage Tags option. WTF?

So it's not perfect, still, but... I think I can work with it.

PS: The fic that I linked under the cut is seriously made of amazing, though spoilery for Doctor Who Season 5. If you haven't read it, and have any interest in Merlin or Doctor Who (or just good writing) go read it and tell leashy_bebes how awesome she is.

Is your cat plotting to kill you?

Yeah. I'm posting this mostly for the thrill of looking totally paranoid, but also partly to pimp the Oatmeal to anyone who is as late to the party as I am.

Well, it's happened. I've been assimilated.

&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts BOOOOOOOOOOOOYS! &hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts

I've been devouring fic for the last week and a half, after doing the entire run of the series so far in about 4 days.

I've started coming up with cracky alternate show titles:

Being a Tale of How Merlin Came to Take His Place in History OR How Two Young Men with Great Destinies Came to Be Lifelong Friends Despite Both Their Best Efforts OR The (Slightly Altered) Prequel to Arthurian Legend OR The Hard-Won Downfall of the Tyrant Uther Pendragon.

How long 'til next January?

You were born during a Waxing Gibbous moon

This phase occurs right before a full moon.

- what it says about you -

You like to question things and have issues settled before going to work on a problem. You appreciate art, elegant forms, and efficient designs. You seek deeper meanings in things that you see and want your actions to make the world a better place.

What phase was the moon at on your birthday? Find out at Spacefem.com

That actually sort of fits.

"1 out of every 10 people are born Gay. That means 1 of every 10 people are instantly put down, given bad labels, left alone, put in a minority and so much more, all for something they didn't ask for.

Gay teens are turning to suicide as a way of escaping.

If you want to tell them that life will get better, & you respect them for who they are, copy & paste this. Most of you won't, but let's see the 5% of you who will."
